Auto talk of the day- Tata Motors unveiled sedan ZEST and hatchback BOLT

Yes, After Tata's nano launch, Tata motors made everyone to talk the topic of sedan ZEST and hatchback BOLT with wow factor.It has been few days back since managing director of Tata Motors Karl Slym died. These  products could have been launched under the leadership of Karl Slym. Tata Motors unveiled two beautiful products- a new and impressive sedan ZEST and premium hatchback BOLT in Delhi.

"These cars have been engineered for global markets, through global teams across India, the UK and Korea to set new standards in their respective segments," Tata Motors President Passenger Vehicles Ranjt Yadav told reporters here.

 Both cars will be powered by company's revotron engine.These two new products are based on the company's enhanced X1 platform, on which the existing hatchback Vista and Manza models are built.


According to Tata, the Zest name 'signifies enthusiasm for life, for the sense of excitement, anticipation, and energy it brings, approaching life as an adventure. It is all about being vivacious and energetic'.
 The petrol engine is the newly developed 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder Revotron motor.The diesel engine will be the 1.3-litre Quadrajet motor.

Tata Motors claims that these cars have a new signature grill, projector head lamps with chrome accents, daytime running lights, 15 inch alloy wheels among other specifications.Zest will have EPAS (Electronic Power Assisted System), with 'Active Return' function and speed sensitive power steering.

This is fresh dashboard of new sedan ZEST.



According to Tata, the Bolt name represents an 'attitude of winning, and staying ahead'. Though the car resembles the Vista in profile, Tata says the new grille with 'Humanity Line' and projector headlights clearly differentiates the Bolt from the Vista. In addition to these.BOLT has Bluetooth, voice recognition, smartphone integration, supporting phone enabled navigation, social media integration, touch phone controlled interface and in-built HVAC controls.



The petrol BOLT will be  1.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Revotron motor which will produce 85 PS @ 5,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque between 1,750-3,000 rpm. 

The diesel BOLT will be familiar with 1.3-liter Quadrajet motor outputting 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque.
The BOLT and ZEST will be showcased in auto expo 2014.

The journey has just started and with these two new vehicles the company would like to increase its market share, he added.

Yadav said: "Both Indica and Indigo are very strong brands and will continue to sell in the market."
Both the new cars have been a result of collaborative design inputs from the three Tata Motors design studios in Pune, Coventry (UK) and Turin (Italy), the company said.
